Day 1: Alexandria → El Alamein → Siwa Oasis
From the Mediterranean coast to the heart of the Western Desert.
Your WOW TOURS EGYPT representative will meet you at your hotel in Alexandria and begin the journey west by private air-conditioned vehicle.
Continue toward El Alamein and explore the El Alamein War Museum, where military exhibits, weapons and vehicles tell the story of the North African campaign during the Second World War.
Visit the principal Commonwealth, German and Italian military cemeteries before continuing west along the Mediterranean coast.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant along the way, then continue deeper into the Western Desert toward Siwa Oasis.
As the landscape changes, the desert gives way to date palms, olive groves and oasis villages — your first glimpse of Siwa.
Upon arrival, check in at your selected lodge and take some time to relax and freshen up.
After dinner, take some free time to walk through Siwa Souk in the heart of town, where local dates, olive products, spices, traditional handicrafts and products made by Siwan families offer a first glimpse into everyday life in the oasis.

Continue to the Temple of the Oracle of Amun, where Alexander the Great famously came to consult the oracle. His visit remains one of the most enduring stories connected with Siwa and its ancient religious traditions.
Explore the ancient tombs carved into Mountain of the Dead, where the desert cliffs preserve another chapter of Siwa’s long history.
Continue through the palm and olive groves for a glimpse of traditional oasis life before visiting Cleopatra’s Spring, one of Siwa’s best-known natural springs.
Then discover the extraordinary Siwa Salt Lakes, where clear turquoise water meets brilliant white salt formations. The high salt concentration makes floating remarkably easy.
Enjoy lunch before continuing to Fatnas Island, surrounded by palms and water in one of Siwa’s most peaceful settings.
As the afternoon fades, settle beside the lake and watch the sunset over the oasis as the last light spreads across the palms and distant desert.
Return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
