We’ll begin at the Museum of el-Amarna, a treasure trove showcasing artifacts that give insight into the Amarna period, a time of profound religious and cultural transformation in ancient Egypt. the Museum of el-Amarna captures the essence of Akhenaton’s radical departure from tradition, with a collection that speaks to the artistry and beliefs of his reign.

Next, you’ll visit the Royal Palace of Akhenaton, where Akhenaton and Queen Nefertiti once lived. The palace walls whisper stories of a unique era that brought about unprecedented changes, and you’ll witness firsthand the architectural genius that defined Akhenaton’s vision. The palace’s layout, decorative elements, and remnants of Akhenaton’s attempts at religious reform offer a vivid glimpse into his ambitious and enigmatic reign.

Then Explore The Royal Tombs of Amarna, These tombs were intended for members of the royal family, most notably Akhenaten himself, and were designed to reflect his religious devotion to Aten. Inside, you’ll find detailed carvings showing scenes of royal ceremonies, family gatherings, and divine worship, including Akhenaten and Nefertiti worshipping Aten under the sun’s rays. These scenes provide a fascinating glimpse into the Amarna period’s unique art style.

Have a delicious lunch at local restaurant.

Then explore Tuna Al-Gebel, a necropolis reflecting a mix of Egyptian and Greek influences, where the Tomb of Petosiris displays the merging of cultural traditions.
