You will be transferred by a modern air-conditioned vehicle to start your first day tour in Fayoum, located 95 km from Cairo, it is one of Egypt’s 7 oases. Home to several attractions from different times from ancient Egypt, Greco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic, to sand dunes, palm trees, lakes and valleys, wild animals, bird kinds.

It’s Fayoum, a land of unspoiled nature & rich history, a place worth discovering!

First visit Wadi El-Hitan (Valley of the Whales), This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famed for its incredible collection of fossilized whale skeletons, which date back over 40 million years to a time when Egypt’s deserts were part of an ancient sea. Here, visitors can view the remains of ancient whales, such as Basilosaurus and Dorudon, which reveal the evolutionary transition of these creatures from land to sea. The fossils of other marine life, including early sharks and sea turtles, give an unparalleled glimpse into prehistoric marine ecosystems.

Then visit Wadi El-Hitan Fossil and Climate Change Museum, Adjacent to the Valley of the Whales, this museum is dedicated to educating visitors about the importance of Wadi El-Hitan and the role of climate change throughout history. The museum showcases fossils found in the valley, along with interactive exhibits on how changing climates influenced ancient ecosystems and species evolution. The architecture of the museum itself reflects the surrounding desert landscape, making it an immersive experience for understanding ancient Earth.

After that cross the desert to visit Gabal Medawara, known as the “Colored Mountain” Gabal Medawara is a striking geological formation near Wadi El-Rayan. This rocky hill provides panoramic views over the desert and the Magic Lake.

Magic Lake, hidden within the desert landscape, the Magic Lake is known for its ever-changing hues, which shift depending on the time of day and season, creating a mesmerizing effect against the stark desert backdrop.

Now you visit Wadi El-Rayan, This nature reserve, consisting of two large lakes connected by waterfalls, is an oasis of life in the desert. Wadi El-Rayan’s lakes attract migratory birds, fish, and gazelles, making it an ideal location for wildlife observation and ecotourism. The waterfalls here, unique in Egypt’s desert, add to the site’s charm, creating a striking contrast between the greenery and the golden desert.

After that visit Medinet Madi, built by Amenemhet III “Imn m hat” – also known as the “City of the Past,” contains a well-preserved temple dedicated to the cobra goddess Renenutet and the crocodile god Sobek. The temple complex includes inscriptions and carvings that depict daily life and religious ceremonies. Medinet Madi is a fascinating example of Egypt’s long-standing religious traditions and architectural achievements.

End your tour in Lake Qaroun, As one of Egypt’s oldest lakes, Lake Qaroun has a history that stretches back to prehistoric times. It’s the largest natural lake in Egypt, covering an area of around 200 square kilometers, and serves as an important bird sanctuary. The lake attracts both local and migratory bird species, making it a popular spot for bird-watching, fishing, and sailing.

On the western edge of Lake Qaroun lies Qasr Qaroun, an ancient temple complex dating back to the Ptolemaic era. Dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god. Qasr Qaroun was likely a religious center for the inhabitants of ancient Fayoum.
