You will be transferred by a modern air-conditioned vehicle to West Bank of Luxor, home to some of Egypt’s most significant archaeological treasures – to visit the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III Known as (Colossi of Memnon), These two giant statues, which once guarded the entrance to the temple of Amenhotep III, are a popular photo stop. Standing over eighteen meters tall, they’ve withstood the test of time.
Then visit The Valley of the Kings, where the magnificent tombs of the ancient Egyptian kings were discovered, those tombs were curved deep into the desert rock, richly decorated and filled with treasures for the afterlife of the pharaohs. The Valley of the Kings contains over sixty tombs, many adorned with vibrant wall paintings depicting the pharaohs’ journey to the afterlife. giving you a glimpse of the incredible craftsmanship. Continue the tour to visit Hatshepsut Temple Known as El Deir El Bahary, This majestic mortuary temple honors Egypt’s most successful female pharaoh, Hatshepsut. It’s carved into the cliffs and features a series of terraces, statues, and stunning reliefs that tell the story of her reign.
After exploring the West Bank, Have a delicious Lunch at a local restaurant with fabulous view on the Nile.
Then you’ll cross back over the Nile to the East Bank of Luxor, where the city’s grandest temple awaits:
Karnak Temple Complex, This is one of the largest and most impressive religious sites in the world. The temple is dedicated to the god Amun-Ra and was expanded over 2,000 years by various pharaohs. The highlights include the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns, the Sacred Lake, and the towering obelisks. It’s a place where you can truly feel the grandeur of ancient Egyptian worship.
As we continue, the tour will culminate with a visit to Luxor Temple, is the most beautiful and preserved temples in Egypt dated back 1500 B C. Built by Amenhotep III and later added to by Ramses II, it’s famous for its avenue of sphinxes, colossal statues, and intricate carvings. It was also used for the annual Opet Festival, where the god Amun was transported from Karnak to Luxor Temple in a grand procession.
By evening, you’ll head back to your Hotel or Nile Cruise, carrying with you the memories of one of Egypt’s most historic cities.
