Outside the gate you can visit Al-Salih Tala’i Mosque. climb up the stairs and reach the top to see remarkable view of the minarets, as they call Cairo “the city of the 1000 Minarets”.

Also you can see Mosque of Sultan al-Muayyad date back to the 10th century.
