Welcome to Alexandria, Egypt’s enchanting coastal gem, where ancient history meets the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Alexandria Founded by Alexander the Great, this city is a rich blend of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian cultures, offering a captivating journey through time.

First visit The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa,  is a fascinating blend of Greek, Roman and Egyptian architecture, these underground tombs cut in the cliffs –  offer a mysterious glimpse into ancient burial practices.

Then visit Pompey’s Pillar, A towering Roman triumphal column, one of the city’s most striking ancient landmarks. Pompey’s Pillar  was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century.

Then visit The church of St. MarkThe main Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, an Oriental Orthodox church, known as Saint Mark Church. Based in Egypt, Northeast Africa and the Middle East. The head of the Church is the Patriarch of Alexandria on the Holy See of Saint Mark, who also carries the title of Coptic Pope. According to its tradition, the Coptic Church was established by Saint Mark, an apostle and evangelist, in the middle of the 1st century (approximately AD 42).

Through your drive you will see The old down town and the local historical architecture which has baroque style designs and Italian and French style properties. After that move on to visit The Roman Amphitheater, is a hidden gem from the Roman era, It’s the only known Roman amphitheater in Egypt, featuring thirteen tiers of marble seating that once hosted performances, lectures, and gatherings. Today, it stands as a testament to the city’s rich Roman heritage.

Next stop is The Bibliotheca AlexandrinaThe library of Alexandria –  is a modern architectural marvel that stands as a tribute to the ancient Library of Alexandria, once the greatest library of the ancient world. Opened in 2002, this stunning building has a massive, sloping disc shape that symbolizes the rising sun of knowledge. Inside, it holds millions of books, rare manuscripts, and cultural artifacts, making it not just a library, but a vibrant cultural hub. It also houses museums, art galleries, and a planetarium, celebrating Alexandria’s historical role as a center of learning and discovery.

Have a delicious lunch at a traditional Restaurant.

After Lunch visit The main square of mosques in the city: you can visit The Abbo Elabbas Mosque. Next to the Mosque  you can see old carnivals where children play on very antique funfair rides and eat candy floss.

Time now to visit The Citadel of Qaitbay: a medieval fortress standing proudly at the entrance of the harbor, built on the ruins of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria.

Day 2: Alexandria - Siwa Oasis

Early Morning around 4 :00 am, Your WOW tours Egypt guide will pick you up from your Hotel in Alexandria to drive to Siwa Oasis.

Enjoy an adventure into the desert to see a unique part of Egypt. Travel to Siwa Oasis about 07 hours’ drive from Alexandria.

Siwa Oasis, tucked away in the heart of Egypt’s Western Desert, is a mesmerizing destination that offers a rare combination of ancient wonders, natural beauty, and thrilling desert adventures. Its isolated charm makes it one of the most unique places to visit in Egypt, where every corner tells a story of history, culture, and nature.

Once you arrive Siwa Oasis, have a smooth check-in. Then Enjoy a delicious Lunch.

Start your memorable journey in Siwa with a gorgeous sunset on Fatnas Island, offering a great place for bird-watching and a relaxing place to while away an hour or two. Enjoy a few glasses of mint tea and Listen to the silence and the rustling of palm leaves in the warm evening air.

After that you have much time to Explore the Souk – Down town of Siwa where you can find lots of stores selling only organic oils, dates, jams, spices and many handmade stuff that before you have a lovely Dinner.

Day 3: Siwa Oasis adventure

After breakfast Your WOW tours Egypt guide will be waiting for you to enjoy an adventure into the western desert to see a unique part of Egypt. 

Begin your exploration in the ancient town of Siwa (Shali), where time seems to have stood still. Wander through Shali Fortress, a crumbling mud-brick citadel that dominates the skyline.  its walls hold the secrets of Siwas resilient past, offering panoramic views of the oasis below.

Step into history at the Temple of the Oracle, also known as Alexander’s Temple, where Alexander the Great had sought divine guidance. Close by is the Temple of Amun-Ra, a lesser-known gem that reflects Siwa’s deep connection to ancient Egyptian spirituality and mythology.

Adventure awaits in the golden dunes of Siwan desert. Try sandboarding, also known as desert surfing, on some of the world’s most magnificent dunes. For breathtaking views and a sense of awe, climb the Great Siwa Mountain, a natural marvel that rewards visitors with spectacular vistas of the oasis and desert.

Time Now to discover the mesmerizing Salt Lakes, known for their vibrant colors and therapeutic properties. The high salt content allows for effortless floating, creating a unique swimming experience.

Cap off the day with a stunning sunset on Taghaghien Island, offering panoramic views and a peaceful ambiance.

After that you enjoy your time, Head back to the Souk – Down town of Siwa where you can have a lovely Dinner.

After breakfast, Start your adventure in the Mountain of the Dead,  known (Gabal El Maouta), a hauntingly beautiful necropolis dotted with rock-cut tombs from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. Each tomb whispers the stories of the people who lived here centuries ago.

Then visit The Siwan house, a Museum showcasing traditional Siwan culture and artifacts. Visit Dakrour Mountain, (Siwa festival area) known for its therapeutic hot sand baths, popular for treating rheumatism and arthritis.

For a refreshing break, head to Cleopatra Spring Eye, famously associated with Cleopatra. This crystal-clear spring is surrounded by date palms and offers a perfect spot to cool off while soaking in the serene atmosphere.

From there you will drive back to Cairo.
