There are places where history whispers. and there are places where history changed the world. El Alamein is one of them.

Your WOW TOURS EGYPT guide will pick you up from your hotel in Alexandria. As you travel west along the coastline, the Mediterranean Sea sparkles beside you, calm and endless – a striking contrast to the battles once fought here.

Your guide begins to set the scene: North Africa, 1942. Allied and Axis forces locked in a struggle that would shape the future of Europe and beyond.

By the time you arrive in El Alamein, the landscape feels different. Wide, open, and solemn.

Your first stop is Alamein Military Museum, where the battle is brought to life through photographs, maps, personal artifacts, and powerful displays.

Alamein Military Museum, It’s not just a collection of dusty artifacts, but an immersive journey into the minds of generals, the resilience of troops, and the logistical marvels of war. The exhibits are a vivid reminder of the tactical importance of this location, where the desert and the sea collided, shaping one of WWII’s most iconic battles. From tanks rusting in the desert sun to personal belongings of soldiers, it allows visitors to feel connected to the individual stories of the men who fought here.

Next, you visit the British War Cemetery. Rows upon rows of white headstones stretch quietly across the landscape. Each stone carries a name, an age, a story – many heartbreakingly young.

Perched on a hill overlooking the sea stands the circular German War Memorial. Built in a fortress style, the structure feels strong and solemn. Inside, the names of thousands of German soldiers are recorded in a central hall, creating a quiet space for remembrance.

Your final memorial visit is the striking Italian War Memorial. Architecturally impressive and carefully maintained, the white marble structure stands in serene dignity. Inside, a chapel and memorial halls honor the Italian soldiers who lost their lives here.

After this meaningful exploration, Have a delicious lunch at local restaurant.

Before returning to Alexandria, you will have the opportunity to explore New Alamein. it is a rapidly developing city located on Egypt’s northern Mediterranean coast, about 100 kilometers west of Alexandria. It is part of the Egyptian government’s ambitious plans to create a series of new urban centers to ease the population pressure on existing cities and promote economic growth.

New Alamein is designed as a modern, sustainable city with residential, commercial, and tourism sectors. One of the unique aspects of New Alamein is its planned year-round appeal, moving away from Egypt’s traditional seasonal coastal destinations. It is envisioned to host millions of residents and tourists, with amenities like universities, parks, cultural centers, and a modern transportation network, making it one of Egypt’s most promising development projects.

From there you will drive back to Alexandria, carrying with you a deeper understanding of courage, sacrifice, and transformation.
