Day 1: Arrival – Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Memphis

Welcome to Cairo.

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, your WOW TOURS EGYPT representative will meet and assist you with arrival procedures before introducing you to your private Egyptologist guide.

Your first day traces the remarkable evolution of Egypt’s pyramids, from the Step Pyramid of Saqqara to the Great Pyramids of Giza. Begin at Saqqara, here stands the revolutionary Step Pyramid of Djoser, designed more than 4,600 years ago by the architect Imhotep. Its distinctive six levels represent a turning point in Egyptian architecture — visit beautifully decorated tombs of high-ranking nobles, and see the nearby Pyramid of King Teti, where the evolution of pyramid building continued to unfold. Together, these remarkable monuments reveal why Saqqara remains one of Egypt’s richest and most fascinating archaeological treasures.

Your exploration continues at Memphis, its open-air museum preserves impressive masterpieces, including the colossal statue of Ramesses II and the elegant Alabaster Sphinx, offering a fascinating glimpse into Egypt’s earliest royal capital.

After lunch at a local restaurant, arrive at the Giza Plateau for the defining experience of the day.

Standing above the desert are the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, built more than 4,500 years ago and dominated by the Great Pyramid—the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. At the Valley Temple of Khafre, discover the rituals associated with royal burial before meeting the plateau’s legendary guardian, the Great Sphinx, with the body of a lion and the face of a king.

At the end of your sightseeing, transfer to your hotel in Cairo.

High above the city stands Salah El Din Citadel, established in the 12th century as part of Cairo‘s defenses and later transformed into a center of political power, within its walls, enter the impressive Muhamed Ali Mosque, known for its soaring Ottoman-style architecture, grand interior, and panoramic views across Cairo.

Your final experience takes you into the living streets of the city, walk through Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s historic bazaar district, where narrow lanes are filled with traditional shops, cafés, spices, lanterns, handicrafts, and the everyday rhythm of old Cairo.

Day 3: Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your WOW TOURS EGYPT representative transfers you to Cairo International Airport and assists you with departure procedures.

Your short stay has taken you from Egypt’s earliest experiments in pyramid building to the Great Pyramids of Giza, from pharaonic treasures to the mosques and lively streets of historic Cairo.
