Day 1: Arrival in Cairo & The Great Pyramids of Giza and Grand Egyptian Museum

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt – where history rises from the desert sands.

Your adventure begins when your WOW TOURS EGYPT representative meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport (Arrival procedures).

Upon arrival your WOW TOURS EGYPT Egyptologist guide meets and escorts you in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to The Great Pyramids of Giza.

Rising from the golden desert stand the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure – royal tombs built more than 4,500 years ago that still dominate the horizon with impossible precision and scale. Next, move across the plateau, the path leads down to the Valley Temple of King Khafre, where ancient priests once performed sacred mummification rituals.

Then, you stand face to face with the Great Sphinx. With the body of a lion and the face of a king, this colossal guardian has watched the sunrise over Giza for thousands of years.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at local restaurant.

your journey through time continues inside one of Cairo’s extraordinary museums – and here, you choose the chapter of Egypt’s story you want to explore.

Choose Your Museum Experience

Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)
Step into the future of archaeology beside the past. The GEM welcomes you with the towering statue of Ramses II and leads you toward the full treasures of Tutankhamun, displayed together for the first time – including his golden mask, throne, chariots, and personal belongings that once traveled with a boy king into the afterlife.

OR

The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir
Home to the world’s most iconic ancient artifacts and rare royal treasures from across Egypt’s dynasties, including the extraordinary silver coffin of King Psusennes I, one of the very few solid silver coffins to survive from ancient Egypt and a true masterpiece of royal funerary art.

OR

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC)
Here the spotlight falls on Egypt’s rulers themselves inside the dramatic Royal Mummies Hall, where you come face to face with legendary pharaohs such as Ramses II and Hatshepsut — kings and queens whose actual faces still carry the marks of history.

Day 2: Alexandria Day Tour - Mediterranean Legends & Return to Cairo

After breakfast, your WOW TOURS EGYPT guide meets you at your hotel, and you journey north toward the Mediterranean coast. As the scenery changes from desert tones to sea breeze and palm-lined roads, you arrive in Alexandria – the city of Alexander the Great, Cleopatra, philosophers, sailors, and empires.

Alexandria feels different from Cairo the moment you arrive. The air carries a hint of salt, the architecture whispers of Europe, and history here comes layered with Greek, Roman, Christian, and Islamic chapters all woven together.

Your day begins beneath the surface of the city at Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the largest Roman burial site in Egypt. Descend into a fascinating underground world where Egyptian symbols blend with Greco-Roman art — a powerful reminder that Alexandria was once the meeting point of civilizations.

Back above ground, you stand before Pompey’s Pillar, a towering Roman column rising dramatically against the sky. It’s one of the last great monuments of ancient Alexandria, built in honor of Emperor Diocletian and surrounded by the ruins of the once-grand Serapeum temple.

As you continue through the city, you pass elegant old neighborhoods where balconies, wooden shutters, and European-style facades tell stories of Alexandria’s cosmopolitan golden age.

Next, explore the remains of Roman Amphitheater, where marble seating once held audiences gathered for performances and public events nearly 2,000 years ago.

From there, history meets modern ambition at the striking Bibliotheca Alexandrina, built near the site of the legendary ancient Library of Alexandria. Today, it stands as a global center of knowledge and culture. Inside the open court, statues of Alexander the Great and Ptolemy I connect the modern city with its powerful ancient founders.

After a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant, your journey continues to the spiritual heart of Alexandria.

Visit St. Mark’s Church, recognized as the oldest church in Africa and a symbol of the city’s deep Christian heritage dating back to the 1st century. Just a short distance away stands the grand Abbo Elabbas Mosque, with its elegant domes and beautiful Islamic architecture overlooking the sea — a peaceful and impressive landmark of Alexandria’s religious harmony.

Nearby, the sea breeze leads you to the impressive Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century fortress built on the exact site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria – once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Standing here, you gaze over the Mediterranean waters that once guided ships from across the known world.

In the late afternoon, you travel back to Cairo, carrying with you the unique feeling of a city where continents, cultures, and centuries meet.

Overnight Cairo.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
